nycbusfan Posted December 28, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 28, 2007 That bus probably won't be running in service after what happened in 1984.

Ken S. Posted December 28, 2007 Share #4 Posted December 28, 2007 The Grumman 870s were problem buses for NYCT. They were removed from service in 1984 after one caught fire. Plus, the 870 and NJT's Metro-Bs look alike one might think what's special about the 870 when they basically rode the same bus in from NJ.
Pablo M 201 Posted December 28, 2007 Share #5 Posted December 28, 2007 The TM don't plan on brining out that bus in the first place. And as Ken S pointed, some people might think that it looks like a bus they were on in Joisey. Too modern for them. Once the Metro-Bs in NJ are gone, then its safe.
