Fan Railer Posted December 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 10, 2009 wheel slips like that are always fun to watch. interesting is that the locomotive has a tractive effort of 43,660 lbf and an adhesion factor of 4.15 (nominal rating for smooth start up is 4), and it was only hauling 3 cars. Hardly what would be considered a heavy load. this means that the conditions must have been a bit worse than usual for such a slippery startup.
