Pablo M 201 Posted December 18, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 18, 2009 Portal bridge track work causing serious delays for trains going in and out of New York, especially inbound. Saw a whole line of trains waiting to clear through NY bound.
metsfan Posted December 18, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 18, 2009 Yea, i saw that alert, it's clear now, but jeeze. I guess they were winterizing? Did you see the barge anchored to the one side? - A
Pablo M 201 Posted December 18, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted December 18, 2009 I didn't see the bridge, I was on the PATH train, but that was probably the case. The line of trains was so bad that I saw the NEC train scheduled ahead of mine. I was able to count five trains in line. So glad I got off at Newark, I made it home before the train I was on even made it to Secaucus.
metsfan Posted December 18, 2009 Share #4 Posted December 18, 2009 Did you see the prep work they are doing for the new alignment off to the east? It's kinda epic, knowing that i'll see a lot of the construction & then ride on the completed route. I believe it will be a viaduct to save time & keep the wetlands a bit more intact, cleaner & safer than dredge & fill embankment. - A
