Maddog Posted December 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2009 I've heard from several friends that the LIRR just "stopped running" last night from Penn Station. Nobody seems to have an explanation, but it would seem like a pretty significant failure if there was no service out of Penn for a few hours, even in an off-peak period like late last night. Anybody know what happened and what the cause of the failure was?
Amtrak7 Posted December 19, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 19, 2009 Got this email at 01:24: Due to switch problems, east and westbound service is suspended between Woodside and Penn Station. NYCT Authority is honoring fares. At 03:16: Service has been restored east and westbound, between Woodside and Penn Station. Earlier, switch problems created a service suspension.
