Description: Track work between Townsquare and Rockaway Stations will affect our ability to operate regular weekend service for the month of January.

(B) runs on the (E) and (M) runs on the (C) between Townsquare and Summit Stations. Passengers traveling to local stations east of Summit must change to the (L) or (T) at Summit. Wow, you got a lot of maintenance on your routes for this weekend. However, I have some service changes of my own.

Because of electrical work, the (5) & (7) SUBWAY Trains will be the only routes operating, every 20 minutes. The elevated (A)(D)(4) and (6) Trains will be suspended.

It's not that bad really, it just means that the (;) and (M) make (C) and (E) stops between Townsquare and Summit. But there has been discussion about cutting the (L) on weekends due to low ridership since the (Z) got the weekend ax with the fall schedule change and crew pick. Most riders perfer to squish themselves onto the (J) instead of waiting for a less crowded (L)

I was wondering if you can give us trackage rights so we can get up to the Summit spur. We have a few containers and boxcars that we need to get up there. Its a high priority move that must have done by this weekeend.

CSAO is the contractor for the Kenilworth Line, so you're clear to Summit. A bus can be sent for the 40-50 riders. As for Summit, that's (NJT)'s ROW. NJTA has trackage rights over (NJT). Also, you have several low clearances on (NJT) once you get to Summit.

Roger, we're already have the go with (NJT) and we will start preparations to make the move tonight.

Watch the wires when you hit the :me:, (NJT) was more than upset when an overheight boxcar brought down the wires.

Is there extra service on NLR between Broad Street and NWK Penn?

(NJT) won't provide it, they claim they're not responsible for moving NJTA's customers when NJTA breaks down. An NJTA-:nec: transfer via SEC/NLR is the same fare as a transfer at Hoboken and (NJT) is not too happy about NJTA's refusal to follow the "Secaucus Extortion". NJTA never wanted to stop at SEC anyway, or MSU for that matter. They do it as a courtesy to their customers.

Due to an unfortunate multi-car derailment, the move to Summit has been canceled indefinitely. There is an ongoing investigation at this time.

He derailed on the Kenilworth Line not (NJT). NJTA's Chatham garage is responsible for substitute bus service for the Kenilworth Line. Anyway, NJTA DOB has already done the MTA BUS in NJ.

(Q) trains will make additional stops at Convent Station and Chatham.

(T) trains traveling to Penn Station will make all stops between Summit and Penn Station.

These changes are being made due to overcrowding conditions and reduced headways.

you guys should be careful someone might take all this seriously.

The first pic posted clearly shows notebooks and other junk behind the R17. I doubt any adult would take this seriously. Plus I doubt that (NJT) would be able to buy much less use Redbirds as MOW equipment.

  • 1 month later...

Final trackwork is complete, (, (C), (E), (M), (Q), and (T) service will operate as normal starting next weekend. Passengers are advised to consult timetables effective 2/19/08 for full information. As always, please purchase tickets before boarding trains whenever possible. A $5 surcharge applies to tickets bought on-board trains when ticketing is available at stations.
