Downed wire causes train delays

NEWARK — A downed overhead wire is causing train delays this morning. New Jersey Transit spokesman Dan Stessel said commuters on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan Valley lines can expect delays of 60 minutes or more.

Stessel said the problem is a downed overhead wire just west of Newark Penn Station. Stessel said Amtrak crews are working to fix the problem right now, but commuters are encouraged to seek alternative transportation.
