The Real Posted January 10, 2010 Author Share #27 Posted January 10, 2010 Gun Hill is still set to get the first 35 NovaBUS LFSAs for the +selectbusservice, however the last 55 may end up elsewhere other than 126th Street. Thats gonna be one of those sit and wait things as well.
Kingsbridge Bus Posted January 10, 2010 Share #28 Posted January 10, 2010 Gun Hill is still set to get the first 35 NovaBUS LFSAs for the +selectbusservice, however the last 55 may end up elsewhere other than 126th Street. Thats gonna be one of those sit and wait things as well. I think 55 buses will be too much for the M15 +select+. They will probably send the extras to Kingsbridge or West Farms depot but since keeps making changes, the extras may end up with bus
aemoreira81 Posted January 10, 2010 Share #29 Posted January 10, 2010 Well thats the whole thing, UP had a NG from FLA and JAM about a week and a half ago... However, they would have still had them if UP is getting them...so far, only JFK has gotten NGs before training occurred unless Flatbush did too. That said, before CS got theirs, 3932 was sent there, before Jamaica got them, they had 4220 on loan, and Grand Avenue had 4450 on loan. LGA, GH, and KB all had loaners beforehand. Like state above, two NGs were at UP about a week ago testing for fitting in the Wash and Maintenance Areas. So there is a consideration for these buses to go to UP. So like I said in the OP, its a toss up between the three, remember this order has had its assignment change 2 times already. So anything is possible. Were they also there for driver training for drivers who picked into MaBSTOA, Flatbush, or Grand Avenue in the big system pick? Remember that at the same time, artics and NGs were floating around Gleason.

SIR North Shore Posted January 10, 2010 Share #31 Posted January 10, 2010 I believe Castleton is also due for some more NGs as well.
S78 via Hylan Posted January 10, 2010 Share #32 Posted January 10, 2010 I believe Castleton is also due for some more NGs as well. Yes. They are supposed to get 4656-4677, then JAM finishes the NG order with 4678-4700, but the change anything.
Kingsbridge Bus Posted January 10, 2010 Share #33 Posted January 10, 2010 Yes. They are supposed to get 4656-4677, then JAM finishes the NG order with 4678-4700, but the can change anything. Id on't think Castleton needs more NG's.
R32 3348 Posted January 10, 2010 Share #34 Posted January 10, 2010 They don't but it would displace Orion V's to CS. I don't know why they don't just send them to CS considering they have 100 older buses to retire but it might have to do with balancing bus mileage. SoSpectacular Posted January 10, 2010 Share #35 Posted January 10, 2010 Casey Stengel wants all your O5s! They've retired an entire bunch since they started getting the O7 NGs late last summer...
Nabinut Posted January 10, 2010 Share #36 Posted January 10, 2010 Playing a little catch-up, wasn't the NG order supposed to have only 850? Did MTA skip some numbers or are they "Penalty" buses from Orion?
R32 3348 Posted January 10, 2010 Share #37 Posted January 10, 2010 The NG's are numbered 3800-4278, and 4330-4700. There's a gap between numbers, that's why it doesn't add up if you just count from 3800 to 4700.

SIR North Shore Posted January 11, 2010 Share #40 Posted January 11, 2010 Id on't think Castleton needs more NG's. It's actually more of a politics thing. The SI Boro President and Port Authority of NY & NJ both paid the MTA for an allottment of NGs on Staten Island.

R32 3348 Posted January 11, 2010 Share #46 Posted January 11, 2010 4220 is a FLA bus, it's not going to go into service at UP...it may very well be a training bus though. Previously it was believed that the bus was there because of MABSTOA drivers who were picking into UP next pick (or something like that) but they might actually be getting NG's. 25 is a little low, but at least it's something.
