Myrtle Local Posted January 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 23, 2010 Just to let anyone know who's interested the Vermonter has been running a single Horizon car in the middle of the 5 car consist recently. Even I was shocked when I saw it pull in earlier in the week!

Myrtle Local Posted February 10, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted February 10, 2010 Nice, glad you were able to catch it! The cars have the business class seats in them and they are much more spacious than the Amfleets. I believe this car is in there because of the lack of comfortable seating for passengers going all the way up to Vermont and there are plenty daily. The last car is the Cafe but it's a split cafe / business class car and that business class is almost always full.
metsfan Posted February 10, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 10, 2010 I heard that the vermonter also has the low density biz class amfleets (i think there are 2 or 3 of them?). -A

Art Vandelay Posted February 11, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 11, 2010 The horizons have roughly the same capacity as amfleet 1s, and are not intended for long distance service. The amfleet 1s have the same seats, bigger windows, and a better ride quality than the horizons.

Takuma Ishizeki Posted March 10, 2010 Share #10 Posted March 10, 2010 The horizons have roughly the same capacity as amfleet 1s, and are not intended for long distance service. The amfleet 1s have the same seats, bigger windows, and a better ride quality than the horizons. Amfleet Is have bigger window on passenger room, but the window on the door is smaller, and is located in the center of the door instead of top for Horizons. So, I have a question about this service. Does Vermonter ever used Amfleet IIs at all in the history of service?
