Fresh Pond Posted January 31, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2010 Ok it first starts while I was on the train heading to Coney Island. The train got to 62 St and on the NB track an train was leaving. At first I thought I was going crazy and paranoid (lol) but then at Bay 50 St, there was another going NB. So now I'm here at Coney Island on the next departing to see if it goes via West End again. Stay tuned for more updates.

Maybe there was a blockage somewhere on the n/b F line route someplace between Stillwell and B'way Lafayette so if they reroute the F via the West End the rest of the F line can be served. In this case, there is an F train with mechanical problems at W.8th St. according to the service advisory MTA E mail I received. This is done a lot more often than you know. Happens on may lines were this kind of operational flexibliity is possible.

Rapid Transit TO Posted January 31, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 31, 2010 Street level explosion, I was told around 20th ave, so as a precaution service was temp suspended.. As a result the coney bound (D)s got turned north, so when service resumed, there was probably no close to Stillwell so a was sent uptown to cover the gap in service. Of all days to be waiting for a train & it not show up, it was freezing out there today!
Fresh Pond Posted January 31, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted January 31, 2010 So did it go via west end? Nope, only the 2 I saw Street level explosion, I was told around 20th ave, so as a precaution service was temp suspended.. Of all days to be waiting for a train & it not show up, it was freezing out there today! But the thing is that there were 2 (D)'s in between the (F)'s that I saw ()
