Is Atlantic Av the only station that says "(2) Wakefld241", or do all (2) stations say that?

The numerical numbering system is back everywhere, from what I've seen. It's a good idea, if the MTA wants to show more trains than the board has lines. Or else it seems the next uptown train will come in a very long time if there's no indication its the second train.

East 180th has its signs installed and running on the uptown and downtown sides. However, they seem to be a little delayed and don't turn orange when the train is coming in the station. It simply says "(2) Wakefield-241 1 MIN" or something along the lines of that (the announcements say it though).

They also don't update themselves to tell which track the train is arriving on. On the uptown side, they simply said all trains were arriving in the local track but when the (5) Came, it actually arrived on the middle track.

They probably won't be up to A-Division or (L) line standards until CBTC is implemented in 2016 or so. Until then, expect announcements and displays like the ones found on the rest of the 8th Avenue and Queens Blvd lines.

Its still something chris, already activated there and thats what your going to see, Not count down clocks.

Pretty much its going to be similar to the B Division as the announcements is the woman since the (7) is pretty much partly handled with the B Div. Such as radio communication.

At least for now. Things can change of course.

Why did the MTA spend a lot of money installing the time/date boards at so many stations? I see one at the vast majority of non-PA/CIS stations.

While they can't be used to display train info yet, they can be used to display various useful information, such as G.O.s. Plus, the plan is to get all B-Division stations real-time info in the next few years.

The ones at Penn (A) on the platform are actually more confusing then helpful, they list really (12+ hour) outdated GO's and information.

the B div doesnt have any plan too have them anytime soon, the MTA may do it in the 2016 plan but that would push it too 2020 or so bf you see a real time countdown clock on any of them stations. maybe just a PA/CIS

Im pretty sure because there are people who are blind who may want time announcements and the boards for the deaf?
