Shortline Bus Posted February 4, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2010 After a fairly quiet January (despite very firgid and cold temps at times)from any big snow, another major snowstorm may hit the NYC/NJ area may hit this weekend Feb 5-6, 2010. Most of New Jersey is already under a winter storm watch as of 12 noon today and NYC may get that weather alert by tonight. In worse case sceniro as much as a foot may hit the metro area. Or a chance only 2-4 inches hits the Big apple region. Here links. http://www.wabc.com http://www.weather.com

Grand Concourse Posted February 5, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 5, 2010 Agreed ^ And I was so hoping this week was the end of it. Damn the snow. I have to go out in the cold and shovel again  There's nothing fun about it.
Paul P Posted February 5, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 5, 2010 You guys in New York haven't been hit bad at all this winter. States like Maryland, Delaware, Virginia are the ones getting a foot or more if the storm moves from the south. I know where I live, there hasn't seen this much snow in years, let alone school cancellations every other day.

This has been the winter from hell for folks in the mid atlantic and Virgina. That more snow in last couple of months than they get in maybe 10 years of winters. The biggie so far the Pre Christmas Blizzard.
Grand Concourse Posted February 5, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 5, 2010 The DC Metro should make their trains 'weather proof'. Plus aren't they under FRA juristiction? At least NYC will still run trains above ground.

Shortline Bus Posted February 5, 2010 Author Share #9 Posted February 5, 2010 Looks like an almost replay of the pre christmas blizzard from Mid December may occur. According to several sources, Most of NJ is under a blizzard warning especially along the NJ shore and central NJ where up to 2 feet of snow is possible. NYC may 'be lucky' and get only 8-10 inches but it's subject to change. http://WWW.weather.com http://www.wabc.com http://www.wcbstv.com
Shortline Bus Posted February 5, 2010 Author Share #10 Posted February 5, 2010 While the area of North of NYC ie Sussex and in NY's Lower Hudson River Valley counties of Putnam/Orange/Dutchess and points away may get only a couple of inches from this storm.
Shortline Bus Posted February 5, 2010 Author Share #11 Posted February 5, 2010 anybody had plans this weekend besides Yuki's trip to DC? I know CBS-TV is thrilled with even more people 'stuck' at home probably to watch the super bowl.

Shortline Bus Posted February 5, 2010 Author Share #15 Posted February 5, 2010 An update. looks like the NYC/North NJ metro(north of Trenton) will be spared with only 3--5inches of snow. Maybe south of Interstate 195 its another storm. The entire mid atlantic from Richmond Va.-Philly is under the threat of getting 2 feet of snow. http://www.weather.com http://www.wabc.com

Shortline Bus Posted February 5, 2010 Author Share #17 Posted February 5, 2010 darn , i wanted a blizzard , hmmmmm *hopes a Decela express to DC:p ~Corey its now snowing (as of 430pm) all of the mid atlantic from Richmond-Philly. Bright side you wont be digging out of up tp 2 feet of snow. Plus the schools in DC/Virgina have already used their 'snow aka weather closure days' for school year and those same kids down there now have to go to schools during parts of their President Day Holiday and spring/easter break. Ouch that hurts.
