LRG Posted February 5, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 5, 2010 It's the Mercedes-Benz Citaro low-floor artic. It was a demo bus received by the MTA in 2008, seeing local service in Manhattan before returning to Mercedes-Benz.

DOB2RTO Posted February 5, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 5, 2010 If Orion want's to compete with NovaBus, they better get crackin' with selling their sister companies product, with American specs. After seeing the picture Adam posted of the NovaBus rigid, on the Q60, NYCTA can now go to one maker who makes two products they need. I don't know what is Orion waiting for........ DOB2RTO Posted February 5, 2010 Share #10 Posted February 5, 2010 Actually I agree it is pretty urgent for Orion to make these busses, the needs artics now and Orion is still hanging there, if they don't move quickly they won't get future orders. For now, I believe the is cutting costs by choosing NovaBus so it'll be one single company to serve their greater needs for efficient operations which is good, but not good for Orion. True that. Parts will be interchangeable for the LFS standard, and LFS artic.........

Zman Posted February 5, 2010 Share #12 Posted February 5, 2010 If the is going to buy these busses, I would prefer it to run on 5th Ave. since it is the Ave. of the luxury, . "Luxury" and "Bus" go together like beef stew and vanilla yogurt.
St Louis Car 09 Posted February 5, 2010 Share #13 Posted February 5, 2010 "Luxury" and "Bus" go together like beef stew and vanilla yogurt.LOL substitute the yogurt for rice and we have a deal. But man this is what the should be looking at,but NY`ers don`t appriciate anything, they`ll tear the bus apart with scratchitti,Sharpie tags, bubble gum and occasional quarter sugar water bottles.
Deaks Posted February 5, 2010 Share #14 Posted February 5, 2010 There's about 400 of them going cheap in London if they can work out a way round the steering wheel being on the wrong side. Well worn, several uncareful owners and some with fire damage.

Infamous85 Posted February 8, 2010 Share #17 Posted February 8, 2010 Aww sucki, the is balling out of control with the Benz lol. All they need is leather bucket seats, some cup holders, and some TVs and they're set. I wish they got these, I hope the Orion artic looks a lot like its European sibling. Better charter an Academy Motorcoch Setra Bus, for that. Still doubt you will get the leather seats or cup holders....... Wasn't the Orion VII NG modeled around the Citaro?
