If anyone has any question about buses feel free to ask! RTS's are my specialty, and i'm pretty knowledgeable on the rest. Im starting to like the Hybrids a lot too. TransitGuy Posted March 4, 2008 Share #13 Posted March 4, 2008 Well better late than never. Welcome and enjoy the forums. So you claim to know a lot about RTS's, well then How many RTS's did the MTA and the private bus lines order in total? (I don't think I know the answer)
East New York Posted March 6, 2008 Author Share #14 Posted March 6, 2008 Well better late than never. Welcome and enjoy the forums. So you claim to know a lot about RTS's, well then How many RTS's did the MTA and the private bus lines order in total? (I don't think I know the answer) Between 1980, and 2001 NYCT ordered 4,684 RTS's. This included an order for 5 hybrids in 2001. Buses 6360-6364. Only 6360, 6361 were built. 6360 was delivered and rejected by Michael J. Quill for maitenance issues. 3 CNG's 8397-8399 saw limited service, and were sold to Command. So in total, the TA only retained 4,679 RTS's. In all, the private lines ordered 394 RTS's, but only 391 were delivered. MTA/Private lines: Total ordered 5,078 Total received 5,070 Total currently in service (aprox) 1,759 NYCT 1,571 MTAB
