metsfan Posted February 10, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted February 10, 2010 Looks like a Plan 4"LIKE" for NJT, even tho they dont have these based plans.. If im correct or wrong. (NJT) has high wind, heavy snow, and winter storm/blizzard policy sets. The winter storm set involves inspection of wires in trouble prone areas, including moveable bridges and in tunnels, as well as phase gap areas, interlocking areas, and any other place an issue might arise, having workers on standby to shovel and salt platforms and walkways, some locos normally turned off may be kept running, doors on parked trains especially in yards are kept closed, those waiting to take on pax not under hoboken's trainshed or nyp's covered area have a minimal number of doors open. Also, all switches and wayside equipment/facilities (flange greasers for example) are either sprayed with glycol to keep ice from forming or they are kept clear some other way, switch heaters are tested and turned on, passenger car HVAC is tested and often left on a low setting to keep the cars from getting too cold. - A

Pablo M 201 Posted February 10, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 10, 2010 Jersey Av Northbound platform closed. Theres no more trains out of Jersey Avenue anyway. One would have to take a train to Princeton Junction then transfer there for Eastbound service.

Pablo M 201 Posted February 10, 2010 Share #12 Posted February 10, 2010 Make it all buses statewide as of 7pm until 5am tommorow all NJT buses. I am not surprised. It was slowly creeping up the state anyways. When I was in Metropark a little bit ago, and to my surprise still saw a 62 bus out there. Probably got pulled when it got to Woodbridge. Down here at Rutgers they suspended service when NJT told Academy to pull all their Middlesex County buses off the road.
JohnQPine Posted February 11, 2010 Share #13 Posted February 11, 2010 NJ must be getting hit harder, the roads here in Nassau are slushy but passable, and is doing a good job keeping things running. Seems Bergen County is getting slammed, well over a foot.
