engineerboy6561 Posted February 12, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 12, 2010 Considering the hassle getting all of the SI express buses through either the Brooklyn-Battery or Lincoln/Holland Tunnels, this could prove highly useful. As soon as the old MCIs are ready to retire, send the other MCIs off of SI and get amphibious buses instead. Once that is done, build an exit on the FDR just before it goes into the tunnel and modify one of the piers at Chelsea Piers on the west side. On the SI end, add piers at School Rd, tweak one or two piers at Howland Hook, and maybe build an add-on to St. George to allow for service changes. It would be expensive but just think of the time saved in traffic!
Grand Concourse Posted February 12, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 12, 2010 Concidering what it has to pass thru, it's not really safe with all the big boats around. Just take the regular ferry boat that's there.
