keep in mind that the 6v92 is a two stroke engine and the 50 is a four stroke.

 

6v92:

816 ft·lbf (1,106 N·m) @ 1300 rpm; 253-277 horsepower governed at 1800-2100 rpm

 

DD-50:

890 ft·lbf (1,210 N·m) @ 1200 rpm 250-275 hp govern at 1800-2100 rpm

 

of course there are other ratings, but these are the ones most likely found in the Orion V's.

This is very interesting. Now did the (MTA) just replace the 6v92 with the DD 50 since the 200 series last had the 50 series engines in them?

 

Yes....and I think the MTA should've never Repower RTS's 8000-8399 buses,because the engine suck in those buses.
