Shortline Bus Posted March 1, 2010 Author Share #26 Posted March 1, 2010 My last point about this Hockey Olympic tournment is this. This is why i enjoy sports like hockey, basketball and even baseball is that almost a toss up beteen the best teams in the world. The US and or Canada in Hockey in these '3' sports shows how much the gap has closed. In basketball 2 years ago in Bejjing the US with Kobe and Lebraon barely hung on to win gold despite deep pressue back home in America. While Japan has won the first WBC World Cup Baseball Tournments. The US baseball team had future hall of famer derek jeter and world class baseball stars Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and other yet the US only made the semifinals of the WBC. This US hockey team lead by Ryan Miller shows how we as a planet in sports is very close now and in these 3 sports and also soccer too the gap of international sports has closed. nel070 Posted March 1, 2010 Share #27 Posted March 1, 2010 Yes plus with the the Soviet Union being broken up and weakened athletically the US has made gains in the winter olympics and soccer. When I was a kid Eastern Europe dominated the winter olympics.
