If you would like to hear history and get a sense of feel for what it was like for us during the Blizzard Of 1977 (Friday January 28th - Tuesday February 1st), WKBW 1510AM in Buffalo has put togther an interesting fact page including background information, a clip of the wind from during the Blizzard, ten news reports and a clip of Danny's Saturday Show.

Wind, News Reports And Show here: http://www.wkbwradio.com/blizzard.htm

How cold was it that Autum and Winter of 1976-1977? It was cold enough that Lake Erie reached a temperature of 48 degrees on Halloween and froze over on December 16th - both records and the Buffalo region would not have one single day warmer than 31 degrees in January - the month, in fact averaged 13 degrees. The Blizzard would make it colder still.
