EE Broadway Local Posted February 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2010 A nice story from todays New York Post: "This Train Really Needs A Conductor" BY: Tom Namako Last Updated 8:21am February 18, 2010 Posted 3:45am February 18, 2010 How do you get to Carnegie Hall? The Times Square Shuttle, apparently. The best sounding buskers in the city stunned straphangers on the line when five members of Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra put on an impromptu performance to their Carnegie performance. "I've played on a flatbed truck before, but never in a subway". said horn player Jaap van der Vliet. The subway's first lurch briefly startled the muscians, but they smoothly resumed Composer Samuel Scheidt's "Three Canzonas". The orchestra - which has 120 muscians at full strength - was recognized as the world's best in 2008. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/this_train_really_needs_a_conductor_d72Hr3QI790xXRWM9oRIPP Not Your Regular Buskers: Orchestra On The Line. EE Broadway Local Posted March 13, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted March 13, 2010 Did I post this article in the New York City Buses forum? I apologize. It was an accident. I'd wondered where it went.
