In what year were the R40 Slants Pulled off the ? Last time I rode/saw an R40 was in April 2003, bound for the NY Auto Show. Rode the R40 from Union Square-14 St to Chelsea-14 St/8 Av.

i've never seen a R40 L train before, i've only seen R42's and 143's on the L

I thought the slants left in 2002 according to http://www.nycsubway.org but I guess not. I'm not too sure since I don't take the L often.

I remember riding a Slant on the once and it was in 98 or 99. Man that was awesome. They need to run them on the one more time.

Your right man, they looked awesome on the ! They really did.. An 8-car R40 Set is/was something different to see.

I've only been on the a few times, and each time, it has been in 2005 or more recently. So, I've only been on the R143's and the R160's.
