Don't the LFSAs meant for SBS service have fareboxes equipped, albeit only taped up?

They're taped up but you can still program the farebox to any route you want

All they do is pull off the tape or whatever was covering the top of the fartebox and you're good to go

Ok.... Lets get into this LFSA order for 328 buses.

The first lot is scheduled to begin delivery within the next week.

5770-5879 are said to be the numbers for the first of the buses as of right now. Originally, it was reported that 5770 and up would be for the New Flyer XD60's. With that award now put on hold until 2013, lots of things are going to be changing when it comes to artics. I previously reported that an additional order for 172 buses would soon follow. This has now been pushed back to 2013, and will be increased to yet another 328 buses. That is a total of 656 new LFSA's The specs for the buses will definitely be mixed.

The current 328 on order will feature both Thermo King and Mobile Climate Control (Carrier) HVAC systems. It is also reported that some of the buses will feature LED headlamps that were originally supposed to debut on the latter of the LFS test buses. (Also seen on 0059)

The order is scheduled to begin delivery immediately, with the full balance of the order due by March 2013, with the next order for 328 more to follow 6 months after that.

This is preliminary information.... Buses #5770-6007

Order timeline November 2011-End of 2012

5770-5798 (WF—West Farms)

5799-5835 (MQ—Michael J. Quill)

5836-5878 (TU—Tuskegee)

5879-5926 (FB—Flatbush for SBS44)

5927-5941 (OS—126th Street)

5942-5991 (GH—Gun Hill)

5992-6007 (KB—Kingsbridge)

(It's a very good chance that WF and KB have traded places)

Also, this only numbers 238 out of the 328 bus order leaving 90 buses unnumbered and unassigned, so Stay Tuned!

Question, apparently this bus order is going into the 6000's, what about the Orion V's that are already numbered 6000-63XX?

Wow, after all these years, FLA will finally get Artics! :D

I assume if the SBS 44 is not up and running when that batch gets to FLA, those LSFAs could on any FLA route until the 44 SBS starts, I hope that's the case, I would love to ride one on the 41 or 46.

The balance of those buses will be delivered by June '13. SBS is slated for December 2012. Even if the order is behind schedule, FLA will still have theirs in time for service. You can get the B46 out of your head though! As much as we all would like that, it ain't hapnin'.

Considering we'll be almost in 2013 by the time we reach the 6000s, I wouldn't be surprised if those O5s are gone. The 6000 batch of O5s will be going on 15 years old by then...

Yeah, the first of those 6000's will be retired by then.

I may see it happening on the 41, even before it touches the 46..

That, I agree with East New York.

Wait, you mean to tell us that 5770-6007 is going to be the official prime number for the Nova buses? Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, what about the other prime numbers of those buses, 1100-99, and 1290-1689? Those seem like the greatest numbers on them to me, and what about the 2012 NFI XD60 "Xcelsior" articulated buses the MTA is planning on ordering, I mean, shouldn't they be numbered 5770-6007? That information makes me so  to the bone.

Well, you should know by now that the MTA changes its mind once, twice, three times a minute. ;)

What is WF about to lose when they get those LFSAs?

My thought would that the 8 1000s are going bye-bye and 20-21 2002-03 D60 artics could get anywhere in Brooklyn, Queens and/or Staten Island that could use these or being overhauled/storaged. Maybe..... just a thought..... ENY did say artics are gonna be scattered around.

Gun Hill: All 6 1000s GONE, 44 02-03 D60s moved/storaged. Leaving about 34 alone.

Quill: ALL 14 '98s LONG GONE, 23 02-03 D60s moved/storaged. Leaving about 42 alone for 30 more the DE60LFR to replace later. ;)

126th: ALL 18 GONE, nothing change with 02-03 D60s, yet.

100th: 43 of the '98 GONE. 30 more in danger of being displaced by DE60s.

Flatbush: CONFUSION right of how many RTS or Orion VII to be replaced. who knows..... (please, any thoughts people)

Kingsbridge: 16 of oldest artics to go away with 120 left standing until the next order.

It's just a thought of what I think might happen but let see where this goes.

From that post I gathered they are only running on the Bx9 for now. It seems odd to only give KB 16 now, when that many buses have to be replaced

did you not see the post about the 30 New Flyer DE60LFR's that KB is supposedly getting??
