Metro CSW Posted December 17, 2011 Share #751 Posted December 17, 2011 So that mean that: 238 + 328 (2013 pending content) = 566 (but) - 72 (MTABC) = 494 NYCTA buses. 72 for MTABC 494 for NYCTA ......interestingly enough...... But this is subject to change soon enough.

Novasupporter Posted December 19, 2011 Share #753 Posted December 19, 2011 In addition to the razzle dazzle with the 74 CNG Buses, there is a change in the Nova LFSA order, it seems as if the reason why 6008-6097 has not been assigned is because as of right now the TA will only take delivery of 238 units. The last 90 units were diverted to the DE60LFR order (Yes, that order which came clean out of left field). So that clears up why there is no assignments for that last 90 LFSA units. Can someone confirm the depot assignment of the Order? My information is part of the reason for recent change was to give the depot getting the last chunk of the first 125 all the same configuration. I think this has more to do with why the last 90 are not assigned than any possible orders with other OEM's. I have heard of no reason why they wouldn't deliver all 328. East New York Posted December 20, 2011 Share #754 Posted December 20, 2011 Hold up, does this mean that we will only get 238 LFSA's now? Help a brotha out cause he's confused right about now. LOL Say what? How's that even legal if they've got the contract approved with Novabus? Can someone confirm the depot assignment of the Order? My information is part of the reason for recent change was to give the depot getting the last chunk of the first 125 all the same configuration. I was trying to find some info. on an order change, but I haven't been able to come up with anything. I don't know why they wouldn't be taking delivery of all of them either. This is what I have for the preliminary assignment. ALways remember that an assignment can change in the middle of a delivery. • 5770-5785: Kingsbridge (16) • 5786-5814: West Farms (29) • 5815-5851: Michael J. Quill (37) • 5852-5894: Tuskegee Airmen/100th St. Depot (43) • 5895-5942: Flatbush (48) • 5943-5957: 126th Street (15) • 5958-6007: Gun Hill (30) • 6008-6097: TBA (90) And this is what we have for the DE60LFR assignment. • 1000-1029: Michael J. Quill (30) • 1030-1059: Kingsbridge (30) • 1060-1089: The Tuskegee Airmen Depot/100st (30)

Won't be a need for the 1000s.
East New York Posted December 22, 2011 Share #756 Posted December 22, 2011 Well, from the looks of what is being discussed...the DE60LFR order MIGHT be renumbered to 6008-6097. Won't be a need for the 1000s. I did some investigating. The order for 328 LFSA's still stands. The last 90 have not been assigned per the MTA. This has no impact on the DE60LFR's which may still be numbered in the 1000's. I'm hearing the LFSA's could run up through 6335 if the second batch of 328 follows the same numbering order

The way I see it, the D60LFR platform will be qualified by the time the 2013 artic order is signed, so there's no guarantee that Nova will get the contract. But a lot can happen in two years. chrisliz09 Posted December 23, 2011 Share #762 Posted December 23, 2011 This is just sad I spotted 5788 on the Bx36 today and I noticed some graffiti in it's interior they are using that one on the Bx36 and the Bx15 they are the worst lines with school kids all over the line end to end so yea i hate when i see that too they did do some work on it the other day i saw it and it was all removed, but than again it can be only a few days until its back. i saw cams on one on them from the Bx9 so i hope they do that on the others too

Those numbers are unconfirmed. I just heard talk of them. It's way too soon to tell, and the last 90 are not included. The DE60LFR's should be qualified by January 2013 baring any significant delays in delivery. So when are 6000-6007 (orion 5s) going to be renumb'd? The Orion V's should be retired by the time the Nova's reach the 6000's in 2013. If by some off chance they are not, the LFSA's will likely be numbered into a different series. Many buses in the Bx have been getting cameras especially the KB NG's. These Nova's I saw on the Bx36 had driver shields.

Cait Sith Posted December 24, 2011 Share #767 Posted December 24, 2011 It appears that we are inching ever so close to the Quill delivery. As much as I hate the idea of these being at Quill, you can bet your ass that I'll be out there getting them buses because this REALLY hits close to home for me since I lived in the Lower East Side for a long time! Yeh, these buses are being delivered in a rapid rate. This will be interesting on how some of these 58xx buses get distributed. I hope some for the M34 +SBS+, some for the M14A/D, and M23. youngblaze Posted December 29, 2011 Share #775 Posted December 29, 2011 Question. Are these buses straight diesel or diesel-electric? I ask because I noticed a regeneration switch on the switch panel. (and cause they sound super quiet...too quiet if you ask me lol)
