Actually, its supposed to be from another 172-bus order, for a total of 500.

yeah, it was. TA bumped it up a noch a little, to a total of 656 buses. People are speculating wether this order will bring the end to the D60s reigh over the MaBSTOA.

It was supposed to be from a 172 bus order. That was before it was delayed and the total was increased to 328.

There is nothing to speculate about. 656 new Nova buses tells all you need to know. There are only 300 D60HF's .

Lets not forget about the 180 New Flyer artics set to come as well. Those D60's are as good as done. All of them. A few may end up at Baisley and JFK though.

I would take a D60 over an LFSA any day and not just because i hate all things low floor. On the D60 the acceleration is better, the brakes are more responsive, and I believe that you could probably have suburban seating throughout the bus and still have more standing space than an LFSA. The only thing the LFSA has over the D60 is the engine is more fuel efficient.

That's right. In two years from now. Boy we will see a great fleet total of 90 (2009-10) + 328 (x2) = a wooping 746 LFSA in completion.

Enless the subject of the order changes drastically....

656-746?! SAY WHAAAAT??! You mean to tell all of us that in 2 years from now, the (MTA) is going to extend the whole fleet of LFSA Buses and throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City? I'm sorry to tell you this, man. But, this piece of information from the (MTA) that you told us. I don't like it. *10-second moment of silence* I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEE IT!! * laughs jofully to himself* I always new this would surprise me but not like this. I'm very excited and can't wait any longer so see all of those buses running the 5 boroughs and to have a full fleet of Nova Bus LFSA buses running for The Bronx Division (Kingsbridge, Gun Hill, West Farms, & Mother Clara Hale Depots), Brooklyn Division (ENY, Flatbush, Grand Avenue, Jackie Gleason, and Ulmer Park Depots), Manhattan Division (126th St, Manhattanville, Michael J. Quill, and the Tuskegee Airmen Depots), Queens Division (Casey Stengel, Jamaica, and Queens Village Depots), and Staten Island Division (Castleton, Charleston, and Yukon Depots). What a dream that will all come true to me!

Is it rare to see Bx19 using LFS-A?

I never seen them on this route until today.

LFSA's on the Bx19 has become very common, West Farms has close to 30 LFSA's now and 2 articulated route (Not including the 2 LFSA's trhat run on the Bx36 every weekday). In other words, there are many LFSA's on the Bx19. Therefore, it is not rare.

Thanks for explanation, I though it was something special, because I always saw older articulated buses on this route.

Per month. However, production was sped up to get things back on schedule. Production will then go back to normal.

The current production is scheduled for 14 buses per month on this order until September 2012 when production moves up to 15 buses per month. As per the update deploy intel, 100th Street/Tuskegee is suppose to get 12 buses before months end and then 14 in March, 14 buses in April and then 3 in May.

Buses yet to be assigned to a bus depot will go to the new, improved, and soon-to-be-reopened Mother Clara Hale in Manhattan. My opinion:

-The Bx19, and M102 buses are articulated, they will both be split routes from here, West Farms [bx19], and 100th Street (soon-to-be-named Tuskegee Airmen) [M102].

-Mother Clara Hale will also take in non-articulated buses for the soon-to-be-assigned Bx32 (splitting with Kingsbridge), Bx33, M1, M2, and M7.

All of that is still to be decided as MCH has not even had groundbreaking yet. Anything can happen between now and when the depot opens. Especially with 126th St. Set to close after MCH re-opens...

Don't be surprised if that order goes to Flatbush.

They could go anywhere..... Especially with another 418(90 Xcelsiors included) artics to follow. 72 of which will be going to BP and JFK. The rest will all be TA unites to kill off the most all the rest of the D60HF's.

In addition, lets not forget the 90 DE60LFR's coming in this year. All together, thats still around 630 buses left to be delivered, including the ballance of the current order.
