depotofrelax Posted November 6, 2012 Share #1226 Posted November 6, 2012 Not sure if this is related, but 5284 was built ahead of the normal order so it's probably a pilot for different specs/options. Was it Gun Hill Depot supposed to be recieve 2012 Nova Bus LFS articulated bus #5276 - #5323 ( 48 bus ) So why is #5284 at Micheal J. Grand Concourse Posted November 8, 2012 Share #1229 Posted November 8, 2012 They had one rack between the front and middle door on 5971, honestly I think they should have more than one on an artic. I still think the racks are pointless. Who'd want to leave their luggage far from them where some thief could snatch it and get off in seconds? I sure as hell would rather stand holding onto my luggage than risking it unattended far from me.

Personally, I'd prefer roofline racks up to the rear door, plus in the articulation.

That would be better than taking away some seats.
Turbo19 Posted November 9, 2012 Share #1233 Posted November 9, 2012 Roofline racks would be great, plenty of wasted space on the lf segment. That would be better than taking away some seats. You'd think that would be the first choice rather than placing them awkwardly mid-section.
Blitz Posted November 9, 2012 Share #1234 Posted November 9, 2012 Roofline racks would be great, plenty of wasted space on the lf segment. That would be better than taking away some seats. roof line racks are not going to happen. There's too much stuff up in the ceiling of these buses (wiring harneses, computers, light ballasts, air tanks) for them to cover the access panels with luggage racks. XcelsiorBoii4888 Posted November 9, 2012 Share #1235 Posted November 9, 2012 If they cant put them on the roof of these buses... Then theyy should make racks on top of each other between the two rear doors...on the right side where those seats are at the 3 sides in front and 4 sides in backk
aemoreira81 Posted November 10, 2012 Share #1236 Posted November 10, 2012 in the articulation!?!? doesnt that move...is it possible for luggage racks to go there?? The turntable is rigid...you can place the rack in the turntable.

Grand Concourse Posted November 11, 2012 Share #1238 Posted November 11, 2012 The employee lot is now filled with 40' buses. Almost all the space in the lot next to the building is full of artics. Also saw 8039 in the building on Utica av's side.

Metro CSW Posted November 12, 2012 Share #1241 Posted November 12, 2012 Well, the second batch for Quill has been completed (if this wasn't mentioned before), although their maybe delays for implementation of artics on 34 Street SBS. In relation, three Gun Hill bounds are awaiting delivery. (And whether they will be delivered directly to GH is beyond me....... and no I don't have to numbers of the three. Don't bother asking!)
