FamousNYLover Posted March 27, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2010 I know service cut begins on June 27th, and I was wondering when will be last day for school day service on X32, N65, N66 and N67? I am trying to chart and try to organize. If anyone mores, please tel me and thank you for information.
NX Express Posted March 27, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 27, 2010 Most likely June 25, Friday.
NX Express Posted March 27, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 27, 2010 The X32 should be extended to remain on June 28, Monday. It's the last day of school for Bronx Science students (don't ask me why it's a Monday).
Forest Glen Posted March 27, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 27, 2010 On the last day of class all they do is pick up their report cards and find out what they scored on the Regents. There are no formal classes. It sucks that the X32 is being eliminated. This effectively prevents Queens residents from attending one of the top schools in the city. checkmatechamp13 Posted March 27, 2010 Share #5 Posted March 27, 2010 I have a random question: Does the school reimburse the MTA for running those special routes/runs, or does the MTA pay for it out of their own funds? Also, about the X32, does anybody have the schedule for the private company that runs the bus that is supposed to cover most of the X32 route? Just curious about where/when it runs and how much it costs.

It doesn't prevent them its just they have to take 2 buses now or the yellow bus so dont say ohhhh Queens kids cannot go ..... they just cant be pampered

If you ask me it's just one other pointless express bus route that should have been phased out from the get go. If a Bronx Science student wants to go to school from Queens, they can either: 1. Travel to the school via Manhattan via subway, taking the or train to/from a Queens train. 2. Take the Q44 and transfer to a Bronx bus. They have all summer to figure out their travel time so let em find their method of transportation that'll suit them...

Plus, as long as the Student MetroCard is around, they can ask for a special 4-trip MetroCard given to students with over 2 hours of commute time. They would have more options because they wouldn't have to worry about having to transfer twice. Plus, even if the Student MetroCards are eliminated (it looks like the state will be putting more money towards the program, so it looks like they will be saved, good news for the 585,000 of us that use them) the trip is still cheaper because they would pay $2.25 x 2, or $4.50 per day, as opposed to $5.50 x 2 or $11 per day. (Again, the Student MetroCards would bring the cost down to $0) Also, each branch has only one AM departure and one PM departure (and in the afternoon, 2 branches are combined), so that means that if a student wakes up late, they are forced to use one of those methods described above anyway.
