6 Lexington Ave Posted March 27, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2010 Wouldn't it be better if the route display on these cars was actually colored like it was for example in the R68s? Also what does NTT mean?
Kingsbridge Bus Posted March 27, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 27, 2010 NTT stands for New Technology Train. I guess it would be a bit better to display it's original color outside;)

2 Train Master Posted March 27, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 27, 2010 This would be a good idea but some people in the world are colored blind which is the reason why the NTT's don't have the original color bullet.
SevenEleven Posted March 27, 2010 Share #5 Posted March 27, 2010 Just remember, those are way more complex and expensive, so If they do start buying them, don't complain when they break. Yes, and that replacing a broken LED display can be as simple as changing the LED lights. For a broken LCD screen, you will have to buy a new screen just to replace it. EE Broadway Local Posted April 8, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 8, 2010 The route color squares began with the R40 Slants and over the R40s, R42s, R44s, R46s, R62s, and R68s. Now starting with the R142s, they borrowed an idea from the pre R40 subway cars and returned the route number/letter above the door on the front and rear cars. Who knows? Maybe they might return the north and south terminals to the front and rear cars above the door like it used to be. You'd have something like WTC on the front car and Jamaica Center on the rear car.
