EE Broadway Local 18 Posted April 2, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 2, 2010 Not sure what might be prompting a weekend suspension of the to Rockaway Park, but I thought you might enjoy seeing this: No Trains Running, Take The Instead Weekend, 11 PM Fri. Bill from Maspeth 1,989 Posted April 2, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2010 Probably track replacement and station renewal on the Far Rock branch. Since the A is re-routed to Rock Park the S is not needed.
EE Broadway Local 18 Posted April 2, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 2, 2010 Track replacement does sound logical.
R32 3348 11 Posted April 2, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 2, 2010 They are rehabbing quite a few stations on both ends of the line, so the whole GO (this weekend and next) makes sense. I might take advantage of this to get pics of the to Rockaway Park instead of waiting during rush hour for just 5 trains' worth of pics.
NX Express 292 Posted April 2, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 2, 2010 Probably station rehab work and preparation for Mott Avenue rehabilitation.
SmallParkShuttle 143 Posted April 5, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 5, 2010 I went down the line on Friday and they had concrete ties stacked up on the street at B72 St and B67 St. Most likely put them in this weekend.
EE Broadway Local 18 Posted April 5, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted April 5, 2010 Did anyone try the to Rockaway Park or the free shuttle bus to Far Rockaway this weekend?
