Small Question About The (R)

Recommended Posts

Pretty much so...it's fumigated at 36th Street and relays north of the station. It could run local heading up but I guess they didn't want (N) service to be interfered with, even if at night.

Terminating trains usually don't get taken to the relay track immediately, so to prevent delays, the ®s run express to 36 Street and terminate on the express track so any other train can proceed without hassle. If the (R) were to run local to 36 Street, both the (N) and (D) would be delayed (since they run local).

(N) service is already interfered with (the x-over south of 59 Street). I think you mean (D) service.
