FamousNYLover Posted April 23, 2010 Share #26 Posted April 23, 2010 I took BxM1 during Liberty Lines Express after field trip in Ft. Tryon Park I took this during New York Bus Service. I did not know about pickup/dropoff policy, but nice B/O let me ride BxM9 to 86th St. BM3 I took this right after Bus takeover.
TransitStop Posted October 18, 2010 Share #27 Posted October 18, 2010 * really sorry for bringing up old topic * The RTS suburbans are the worst to ride especially on a non express route after taking your seat in the rear it is near impossible to get off unless you are getting off at a main stop Here are the STO Suburban RTS' ( yes they have rear doors )

gtNovaBusRTS9369 Posted October 18, 2010 Share #29 Posted October 18, 2010 Do the Jamaica RTS' still have the suburban seating or were they reseated? And what about Ulmer Park? Sorry to say this but Well for JAM I believe they're RTS'es defintely lost all of their suburban seats. I haven't seen nor rode an RTS with Suburban seats since last year. Joel Up Front Posted October 19, 2010 Share #31 Posted October 19, 2010 Are those soft seats really soft, or are they just better to feel than the standard hard plastic seats?
NX Express Posted October 19, 2010 Share #32 Posted October 19, 2010 Are those soft seats really soft, or are they just better to feel than the standard hard plastic seats? Like Greyhound seats, IIRC?
East New York Posted October 19, 2010 Share #33 Posted October 19, 2010 I used to love catching the Ulmer Park suburban RTS' regularly on the shuttle back in '06.

Riding it on a local route was a real pain in the ass, I used to go out to Ulmer and try to catch one on the B6. I always sat in the front seats facing the door since it gets ultra packed. Another thing I miss about them was when most got reseated, they kept the platform in them so you would have standard seating but forward facing seats
QM1to6Ave Posted October 19, 2010 Share #37 Posted October 19, 2010 I caught an RTS with the standard seating but raised platform left over on the Q46 this summer. I forgot the number, but it was definitely a strange looking (i.e. pretty old and run down) compared to the othe rbuses, and the B/O was a real character. May have been a put-in or whatever. I believe your saw #9250-9252 (from QV which also runs the Q46) because they still have platforms just with regular seats along with the rest of the buses in the 9250's numbers
Joel Up Front Posted October 19, 2010 Share #39 Posted October 19, 2010 And what do they use for local routes that go between boroughs like the Q32?
Fresh Pond Posted October 20, 2010 Share #40 Posted October 20, 2010 And what do they use for local routes that go between boroughs like the Q32? Whatever bus the driver was handed. But since the Q32 is out of Stengel it used to use the surburban Orion Vs on occasion before they were retired
