Anyone Knows About #531?

#531 was a Triboro Coach bus with the Jamaica Bus scheme and was also formerly from a company called MDTA. Has anyone ever seen this bus or was it ever in service?

From my youth, all i remeber is seeing that bus parked on the apron @ the corner of 23 ave & 85 street everytime I passed on the Q33. Ive never ridden it or seen it in service. it probably was used.

It was always used at Jamaica Buses from I think 1997or98 until 2002, Then they just used it for parts and they added the Triboro logos for a tease by the way Triboro did use that bus for parts too. This Bus was a 1981 GMC RTS 04 with the opening back doors.

So TC NEVER used it? Just for parts then?

Yup, They retired that bus in late 2002 early 2003 I think, But they just used it for parts, It was a 1981 model.

Not to go off topic but seeing these pics makes me miss JBL, when I was on the Q111 I saw a JBL RTS parked in the back.

 

The should run those buses on their old lines when they do those Museum buses in Manhattan.
