Paul P Posted April 22, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 22, 2010 The reason I'm asking is because lately I've been noticing a lot of the same kind of people on the forums and elsewhere... not judging or anything since most of them I don't personally know , but a question comes to mind: What kind of people enjoy this hobby? Pablo M 201 Posted April 22, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 22, 2010 To be kind, theres a whole mix of people because I've come across many in this hobby and some people are just interesting characters. Then to be honest (brutally at that), there are nutjobs in this hobby. But who am I to judge? I know I'm crazy.

While I'm out with my batch of people, I know how to have a good time, yet not get out of hand. I admit, we all joke around, talk loud and laugh at everything in sight. It just adds more pizazz to the hobby. We want to have fun no problem, yet you have to know how to.

EE Broadway Local Posted April 22, 2010 Share #10 Posted April 22, 2010  Are you mentioning about seeing the same posters on NYC Transit Forums and that they post nearly every day? I think NYC Transit Forums and Subchat are the two most active transit forums at present. Rider Diaries has their spurts. Sometimes you try, but it can be hard to be fair each day when you are registered at three or more transit forums.

Lol, at least there's a chance to get a front row seat compared to getting space at the rfw B) But nah, I love the whiplash seats. Last row all the way! Forest Glen Posted April 22, 2010 Share #23 Posted April 22, 2010 Just like in any other hobby, railfanning features both normal people and loonie toons like at Subchat. Some people simply enjoy railfanning. Others are ready to fight or insult other people who disagree with their opinions. It's the same at this Yankees message board I post on. There's a jack@ss named htman 213. He calls anyone who criticizes Derek Jeter a Red Sox fan.

We may not have to agree with everyone but that's what makes us unique in our own way, because we all have different viewpoints and opinions.
