The R160 Alstom for OpenBVE:

Recommended Posts

Some preliminary work on my latest project for OpenBVE: The R160 Alstom (as much as i hate it but i was asked to make one so w/e lol)

The Panel is the same as my 160 Siemens i know, that will change however..but for now enjoy!

I will upload a new sound pack onto BVEStation soon for those who wish to have this.

i have decided to, instead of just updating the sound pack, make a testing version of the 160 Alstom. This train is for OPENBVE ONLY it will not work in BVE2 or BVE4. Also please be aware this train operates in MPH (not the traditional metric system in BVE)

Unzip & install this into your BVE Train folder (usually C:\Program Files\BVE\Railway\Train or C:\Program Files (x86)\BVE\Railway\Train if you have vista)

Enjoy, and please tell me what you think !!

Here's a minor update of my R160 Alstom; i put in new brake numbers, smoothed out the acceleration noise, and added in a new run sound provided by dave160 so download it and enjoy :D

Maybe you should redo the R142.

- The R142 currently available right now i cannot touch that since because of permission issues, however an R142A from me is in the works. Maybe some time in the future after I get a nice panel for and release my 142A I could do a 142 with that panel.

in OpenBVE, to activate exterior view press F3. You cannot do this in BVE2 or BVE4.

In OpenBVE when it asks you to select a train, make sure you have the proper directory (usually its C:\Program Files\BVE\Train or C:\Program Files (x86)\BVE\Train for vista/windows 7), pick a train and there you go. technically any train will work, you can have a british C321 on the F train but obviously that would be unrealistic and silly. (if that's what you want though then go right ahead lol

Alright I want to get this done with soon, so now I am looking for beta testers to test out the R160 Alstom for OpenBVE. Basically I will give you the train, you tell me what you think about it, anything that I should change about it, and any inaccuracies. If you would like to help out, please send me an email at :

bill @ bvestation . com (remove the spaces)

and I will have the train out to you by tomorrow. Include your NYCTF or BVEStation username (if you have one) if you would like to get credit.

Thank you for your help!
