Fred G Posted April 28, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 28, 2010 Westbrook, as you know, is a low level platform for Shore Line East. In fact it's the last SLE station to be the "patio" style of just a square wood platform and bus shelter structure. I spent about 20 min there today and caught 2 trains. Thanks for looking! Harry Posted April 28, 2010 Share #7 Posted April 28, 2010 Amazing photos as always Fred. I tried looking for that 17-35mm used/refurbished in the $800-1000 range and didn't get lucky. When I had the money for it of course. I'm starting to think I never will. Listen up kids... wider is better. At least for me it is.

Thanks, Harry  As the price of lenses has generally gone up so have used ones. KEH has a bargain rated one at about $1k now. If you don't mind the 3mm less, they have a 20-35 for about $650. Same 77mm filter size and same f2.8 through. I hear ya though; my major lens purchases are finished for quite a while.

Paul P Posted April 28, 2010 Share #11 Posted April 28, 2010 Wow. These are really great, espicially the last photo! Interesting as well. I cant believe the third rail is just right their, as in easily accessible. 3rd rail? Where?
TrainFanatic Posted April 29, 2010 Share #12 Posted April 29, 2010 3rd rail? Where? I mistaked the running rail to the far left for the third rail. At first glance I thought it was a protective cover for the third rail. What was I thinking? Amtrak, third rail...uhhh

reelbigfish Posted April 30, 2010 Share #17 Posted April 30, 2010 I wouldn't be surprised if they rebuilt this station sometime soon. It is the last station without a raised platform and SLE service with M8's will require it. Definitely enjoy while you can!
N-Trizzy2609 Posted May 1, 2010 Share #18 Posted May 1, 2010 This station is set to rebuild in July sometime. An exact twin of Branford.
