namm08 Posted March 21, 2008 Share #201 Posted March 21, 2008 How long does it take when you go down with the paper work and drug test? Do you speak to someone, like an interview? I have to go down on 3-26 and when I was filling out my paperwork about previous obs, some of my supervisors I think are no longer there. Do they call your present employer? gabchi0909 Posted March 21, 2008 Share #202 Posted March 21, 2008 Hi Namm, If I note correctly, you only went down for the Boss exam in February , they are already calling you to come down on 3/26? That was so fast! Congratulations. My husband went down for the Bosss this past week, hope he gets called for drug and paperwork soon too! Chris Frusci Posted March 21, 2008 Author Share #210 Posted March 21, 2008 hey chris need some info i got my cdl permit when i thought i was getting called for dsny like i told you in my last post for the dsny training i needed air brakes and tanker i got the license through dsny training at floyd bennett feild in bklyn the dsny training is a week long they scheduled the road test for you i passed the road test but did not have a p endorsment i later tried to get a p endorsement when i was going to work for acess a ride i took and passed the written test for the p endorsment but dmv gave me a p endorsment with a n2 restriction meaning i am not allowed to transport no more than 7 passengers and dmv said thats because when i took my road test i took it using s dsny garbage truck and not a bus and they also said that if i wanted to get the full passenger endorsement i would have to take another road test using a bus if thats the case would ta still allow me to use thier trainning course that they offer:confused: Hey overtyme: No matter what, The MTA has to accept you into training, as long as you have a commercial permit with a P endorsment. If you have atleast a regular license, and the passenger and air brakes endorsment, then your good.
Chris Frusci Posted March 21, 2008 Author Share #211 Posted March 21, 2008 Hello, wanted to know how soon they will be calling. I went down (3/19/08) to 180 Livingston and did paper work and lab. Will they call if you don’t qualify or only if you pass? I also heard that Mabstoa Class 2801 is calling people for March 31, 2008. Is it true that NYS DMV is more lenient on MTA trainees when going for CDL? I love this site. Keep up the good work. NOFLEXDONT: Welcome. You will be called for the next class. Get ready. Make sure you have your mock uniform. To answer your question- DMV is HARDER on the MTA trainees. They expect more from you. DOn't worry though, because by the time you take the road test you will have HOURS of driving under your belt.
Chris Frusci Posted March 21, 2008 Author Share #212 Posted March 21, 2008 Did you take the Boss for 5025 as well? Or when you took the Boss in Feb. it counts towards both tests? Jacquie: Your husband will be called shortly. The dispatchers at my depot are expecting a mass hiring. They just got the word about a week ago. They are all stressed out because it messes with the scheduling (They have to take in account the lateness the routes will be experiencing with the new drivers). So everything I was told, and everything I predicted so far is pretty much true.

They background check you before you come in for training? Wait a second, I'm confused. Your Jacquie's husband? If you go in on the 27th, expect to be in the April 14th class. They do check your background before you start training. That's during your whole medical process. Its not as vigorous as you think. They may try to scare you, and tell you that they check everything, but they don't. Assuming you pass everything, you will start the 14th. Now I need you to do me a favor (and everyone else on this site a favor). When you finally do get called for your drug test, remember your list number and go to page 6 of this thread. Remember my "calling chart"? Well compare your list number to my calling chart to see if your number matched up with the date I said you would get called. If you were any earlier or any later, then I need to adjust the chart accordingly. I need to keep that updated in order to keep other people informed. Thank you. DOB2RTO Posted March 22, 2008 Share #219 Posted March 22, 2008 Do you think its better to say off the books then? Depends on your age. You could put supported by family, but if you are at an age where that would be utmost humiliating to put down, then you could put off the books. Do I write that or say unemployed? NAMM: Do not put anything down that was off the books. Leave it blank. Now within those two years just put down that you were supported by parents. You can not leave anything blank. They ask you to go ten years back. So basically from ten years ago today, till now, you have to show how you earned any type of income. If youw ere unemployed, LIKE YOU WERE FOR 2 YEARS, then you show that you were supported by parents.

They have to hire you even if you never worked a day in your life.
