rachelatwissconsin Posted May 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 16, 2010 Hi, I'm new to the forum obviously but wanted some input. I'll be working in New Hyde Park but will have a place in Queens due to my fiance's job situation. My job needs me to have a car and I will be driving daily to and from work in it. Are there any personal suggestions anyone has in terms of what types of cars to look into? Thanks a lot!
East New York Posted May 16, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 16, 2010 Something cheap and small that saves gas is your best bet. Something in the Ford Focus, Honda Civic range. I would have said Toyota back in the day, but Ford has better quality cars now. I never thought those words would come out of my mouth!

Zman Posted May 17, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 17, 2010 Realistically speaking, any brand of car will get you to and from work. Just do not buy anything sporty. Sporty vehicles give a firmer ride, and they'll knock your fillings out when you drive on the city's pothole choked streets. NYC streets are the worst. Oh, and I assume that you have scoped out the on-the-street parking situation in your neighborhood? Hopefully you'll have a private driveway. Dan05979 Posted May 17, 2010 Share #5 Posted May 17, 2010 Mercedes Benz S-65 AMG would be a great daily commuter. Or if you want to go fancy get a Maserati Quattroporte.
RokuSix Posted May 18, 2010 Share #6 Posted May 18, 2010 You definitely won't need an SUV or anything like that. Queens is flat. Very flat.
