bstar1 Posted May 28, 2010 Share #5 Posted May 28, 2010 Was that a R44 or R46? How come they don't continue to do that with NTT cars, instead of using flatbed trucks.

INDman Posted May 28, 2010 Share #10 Posted May 28, 2010 R142s (don't know if they were As or not) were brought in on rail cars also.
LRG Posted May 28, 2010 Share #11 Posted May 28, 2010 R142s (don't know if they were As or not) were brought in on rail cars also. R142s, yes. R142As were delivered just like the R160s are (flatbed trucks and dropped off at 207th Street Yard). I also remember seeing M7 railcars on flatbed freight cars in 2006-7 alongside the Canarsie Line passing through the Wilson Avenue station. MTR Admiralty Posted May 29, 2010 Share #12 Posted May 29, 2010 Nice. Ah, the old days. But that was when the cars were still built in America by American companies. The junior hippos were transported by barge, I recall.
SmallParkShuttle Posted May 29, 2010 Share #13 Posted May 29, 2010 Hey, even before that they weren't even piggybacked. They were part of the trains. (not my photo)
