Calvin Posted May 29, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 29, 2010 *CNGs are already removed at SC. Now, its CP turn. 18xx and 19xx are coming to: LAGUARDIA COLLEGE POINT SPRING CREEK SC and CP will swap some 2004-2007 coaches and 1997-1999 MCIs. SC will get rid of about 20 2004-2007 which might be 31xx and will be getting 19xx. CP will recieve 2004-2007 31xx from SC and it will also get a few more 1997-1999 Coaches tats 18xx and 19xx. CNGs will slowly be removed from Express Service when some 31xx and 18xx and 19xx come to CP. When all of 31xx and 18xx, 19xx are all finished to go to CP, CNGs are no longer used for Express Service and will be used for Local Service. So, SC will get rid of 31xx and get 19xx while CP gets 31xx with 18xx and 19xx.Also, some 18xx and 19xx will be going to LaGuardia. In June, the process of CP is slowly removed CNGs by the amount of MCIs.On July, budget cuts is coming and the fleet of CP is MCIs.LGA will be getting more MCIs tat are 30xx, 31xx, 32xx, 33xx wit some 18xx and 19xx. SC is trading new MCIs wit old MCIs to improve CP. CNGS are gone by July.:eek::confused:

JohnQPine Posted May 30, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 30, 2010 I wonder if those CNG Expresses could be converted to local use and replace some of the very tired 1400s that remain at LIB.

aemoreira81 Posted May 30, 2010 Share #9 Posted May 30, 2010 It is. There should be a separate order though...which could introduce the THIRD different model of bus to carry the number 1800 in 2 years.

They are the same age, Both are 1998 models, LIB has 1997 models also, The ones at mitchel feild are the ones that need to go, The Rockville Centre ones are in good shape and can stick around for another 6 months to a year. R32 3838 Posted May 30, 2010 Share #12 Posted May 30, 2010 No the next NG CNG order will cover that. I heard from a TA source that that Order was not made yet, If if a new CNG order is made, expect some crazy swaps with CNG buses between NYCT, MTA bus and Long Island Bus.
