bveguy Posted June 12, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 12, 2010 Hi guys, I was wondering how I can clean rust off keys. I have a Redbird MDC key which is really rusty and I'd like to make it silver like its original color again. Which methods would you guys suggest that won't harm the key or anything? INDman Posted June 12, 2010 Share #4 Posted June 12, 2010 If it is an old key, thats the color they were. Only newer keys are shiny.
SubwayGuy Posted June 12, 2010 Share #5 Posted June 12, 2010 Wire wheel. I'm SubwayGuy and I approve of this post. Remember to wear safety goggles, sleeves, and gloves when using the wire wheel. Also advisable to use vicegrips to hold the key in place so you don't accidentally catch your finger in there.
