Jonesy Posted June 12, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 12, 2010 If You've been to Pittsburgh especially Downtown You'll know theres lots of action along Smithfield During any time of the Day, Buses from almost every Garage of the system operates along this Long Street it Stretches from the Center of Downtown Across a Bridge and Ends on another Side of Downtown to Station Square LRT Station, I covered most of it yesterday with pics...Enjoy; To Start off this is a Non-PAT Bus Westmoreland Transit which Operates Commuter Service In and out of Pittsburgh M-F is a small Carrier with a Nice number of MCIs and these "Cutaway" type buses they Just retired a Batch of Gillig Phantoms from 1997. Garbage Can on fire at Station Square lol Mid Mon Valley Transit Authority is also an outside Carrier they Provide Service Between Pittsburgh and Washington County, PA 7 Days a Week Their Fleet Consist of NovaBus RTS in 35 and 40ft Flavors along with 35ft Gillig Phantoms and 2009 Gillig Low Floors Pictured Above is #461 one of the Oldest RTS still running in their Fleet this is a 1997 Model. Now to the Colors; Phantom #1526 In its new Paint Scheme. My Favorite Shot of the Day Two Gilligs Heading out of Town and the Monongahela Incline in The Backround The Mon Incline Just Celebrated its 140th Birthday Last Month!
