Homeball420X Posted June 25, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 25, 2010 I was riding home today and got on the at queens plaza. As i was walking I couldn't help but notice that the 87xx were runing on the so as I went inside the interior was completely different. The seats were different and even the poles on North and South ends of the car. One thing that did surprise me was that on the North and South ends of the car there were no seats. Could anyone shed some light on this? Were these cars prototypes?

bveguy Posted June 25, 2010 Share #4 Posted June 25, 2010 There are only 5 cars which are like that (8713-8717). It is a pilot program for standing room only on trains during rush hours. The seats fold up and lock with a vapor key, so the train is standing room only.

QM1to6Ave Posted June 25, 2010 Share #8 Posted June 25, 2010 They're gonna run their last trips as normal. Nothing special going on. Actually, one councilman is holding a mock funeral for them tomorrow. I heard it on the radio, so I am not sure of the details, but if anyone is interested in this kind of thing (I am not), go for it! This is not through the or anything, but it still is interesting. INDman Posted June 25, 2010 Share #9 Posted June 25, 2010 They're gonna run their last trips as normal. Nothing special going on. Except some kid waiting for everyone to get off the last so he can go down in history (his own mind) as the last person on a train.
