OC Transpo 8238 Posted November 15, 2010 Share #10 Posted November 15, 2010 About 20 of the 105 Orion V buses left at OC Transpo (9701-9720, 9801-9885) have been retired, some are still sitting in Pinecrest Garage while some have already been sent for scrap. These are OC Transpo's last high floor transit buses left. They all should be gone by the end of next year.

OC Transpo 8238 Posted November 30, 2010 Share #15 Posted November 30, 2010 sucks that they will be gone they are still all in very good condition, are any of the Orion V's currently in Merivale Garage still? I am not sure where your information is coming from but, no they are not all still in very good condition. A lot of them have rust issues building up underneath the bus where the public doesn't see. These buses are just like the 91/92 V's which were only made for 12 years and now some have surpased that milestone. Most V's should be from Pinecrest, Transpo wants to control what's left of the HF fleet into one garage. V's are seen at other garages for maintenance and will eventually be return to Pinecrest or St. Laurent for retirement. Which is also why Pinecrest now usually has a few D40i's around. OC Transpo 8238 Posted June 23, 2011 Share #21 Posted June 23, 2011 A update: Buses 6404-6709 (2010 D60LFR) have A/C issues and are not functioning. NFI is working on the issue Orion VI 4029 burnt about 2 weeks ago, retired from service NFI D40 9215 was removed from the property today. 9215 ran up until the last days of D40 service in Ottawa, it was then used for a mock terror trial where it was crushed. It had been stored @ OC Transpo for months after. Only a handful of Orion V buses remain, and they're time is limited. There is about 10 sitting in the deadline at St. Laurent Garage and all should be gone by the end of the summer. The restoration of Streetcar 696 is going well. They have all the side panels up, and the frame is sound. They are about ready to lay the floor. Streetcar 696 is a streetcar build in 1917 by the Ottawa Car Co. It was built right here in the Nation's capital and it ran until service ended in 1959. It was picked up by a group of people wishing to restore it in 2000 and has been underway since. Thats an update from Ottawa-Carleton Transpo 70(8)70(2)70(3)70(8)
