Very Interesting

Some of you may have noticed, but some may have not. I didn't until it was pointed out to me: Buses are not sporting advertisements inside the bus anymore, with the exception of MTA ads. This seems quite interesting considering the space is there and the company is "broke." My b/o friend had a theory that the MTA wants to be broke so they can give an excuse to cut more service, as that is a multi billion dollar revenue source. I took the B63 yesterday, completely ad-less, the B49, B1, B68, B100 today, all the same. The B41 had only transit announcements.

Wow this is crazy , well they had about 400 b.os laid off and about 5-8 years from now it'll be easier for some people to become a b.o because of all the empty space that is left over but thats if mta gets things together and all they want is 10.million dollars atleast , they have enough money they are just being nitwids , and since they cut off the x37 38 29 25 & half of b64 they have extra buses laying in the yard and barley some b.os were working yesterday and i went there at 12pm and 4 pm and it was the same thing , i think i dont want to be a b.o anymore .

Wow that actually makes sense, I just realized I haven't really seen any adds lately. Even on the outside of some buses they aren't there, looks like they were just ripped off, some NG's stripes are all semi-peeled off where the adds are supposed to go.

Very interesting.

I never really noticed it, but I kinda find that hard to believe. I mean if the MTA wants to be broke, they already did by caving in to the full fare student cards than to shift that burden to the DOE.

Correction: ...shifting that burden back to DOE. (Remember, the MTA is not a school district.)

Ah yes, you are correct. Of course then it would've been an issue for the teachers union where they demanded those underperforming schools to stay open. If the DOE were to take back the student cards those schools probably would've stayed closed, but that's another issue.

Carry on with the original topic.
