New Bus Destination Signs

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have a list of the new destination signs for routes affected by the service reductions? (For example: S66: Port Richmond ^ via Grymes Hill)

For that matter, does somebody also have a list of the old destination signs befire the service reductions took effect?

Thanks.

I've seen a few.

First, the M10.

1. (flipdot)

M10: 59 ST-BWAY (flipdot, nine-point thick)

M10: via CNTRL PK W ("via" five-point, "CNTRL PK W" eight-point — both thin)

2. (horizon)

M10: 59 ST-BROADWAY (thick, twelve or thirteen-point)

M10: via CENTRAL PK W. ("via" seven-point[?], "CENTRAL PK W" either twelve- or thirteen-point)

3. Titan

M10: 59 ST-BROADWAY (sixteen thick)

M10: via CENTRAL PK W. ("via" ten thick [?], "CENTRAL PK W." sixteen thick[?])

4. Side-horizon:

M10: 59 ST-BWAY (thick, twelve-point)

M10: via CNTRL PK W. ("via" thick five-point, "CNTRL PK W." thick nine-point)

Now, the M104:

M104:: MIDTOWN^42 ST ("MIDTOWN" thick eight; "42 ST" thick seven)

M104: via BWAY/7 AV ("via" thin lowercase eight; "BWAY/7 AV" thin eight-point)

(RTS configuration unknown; side-horizons only)

M20 (side-horizons):

M20: SOUTH FERRY (twelve thick)

M20: via 7 AV^via BATTERY PK CITY ("via" lowercase seven thin, "7 AV"; "BATTERY PK CITY" thin seven-point)

M9 (got this from viewing Shane's pics):

1. (flipdot)

M9: CITY HALL (thick ten)

M9: via AVE C ("via" thick six; "AVE C" thick ten)

2. (side horizons):

B4 (eastbound):

Shore Pkwy

Ocean Pkwy

I may have it in the wrong order... but I still think it's stupid for a few reasons.... it's like they have that up there as a designation b/c they don't know the name of the neighborhood or something....

...and worse, buses end @ CI/Avenue Z, adjacent to that elementary school

... even if buses ended at shore pkwy/ocean pkwy, you'd think implementing a B4 CI HOSP [or something similar] would make far more sense
