tkx2510 Posted July 7, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2010 Well is i know according to the ttmg transit wiki the the OBI Orion CNG Has been with the Jackie Gleason Depot In Brooklyn For years. And now 8 of them had moved to MTA Bus College Point Depot in queens and I bet the rest has been put to scaped in ECH Depot. Here is the link to the updated bus roster.. http://www.ttmg.org/mediawiki/index.php?title=MTA_Regional_Bus_Operations_Depot_Roster
LRG Posted July 7, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 7, 2010 I'm not surprised. The three-digit O5 CNGs from Gleason didn't even have that much mileage. It'd be stupid to get rid of them yet, they have like another year to go until the next CNG order comes in.

Grand Concourse Posted July 7, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 7, 2010 This is crazy. While I'm happy those buses aren't being retired, why move them to CP? It's basically a bus swap. I mean is it because it's closer to ECH so those buses can be sent there when they are beyond repair? Really bizzare. Also I thought CP was no longer keeping the O5s on express buses [thus the move of the MJQ D4500s to CP]? I guess this means some are staying on the express? Grand Concourse Posted July 7, 2010 Share #12 Posted July 7, 2010 That's kind of a shame. Have the 8500s ever ran on the locals before now?

In 2007, I usually only saw them on the lighter-use routes such as the then-Q65A and Q67. Now, they are on heavy lines like the Q34.

R32 3838 Posted July 8, 2010 Share #20 Posted July 8, 2010 Basiley Park as well, I heard from a freind that works at BP, they had to borrow 3715 and another OG from JFK because of those ex Bee line buses, BP is 7 buses short, I agree on One thing, They need to bring those RTS back out of storage. But you would deprive JG of HF buses, which have more capacity. It is best to just leave them there. For CP, when the CNG NGs arrive then they can retire those ex-NYCT O5s. CP, JFK, and LGA need buses. They really should've kept those 8600s from MJQ around longer. Short sighted to retire them all when they did. And the one's from ENY. The majority of those buses were still good IMO. If JFK & LGA need buses, why can't the send RTSes in storage to these depots? Your guess is as good as mine. Basiley Park as well, I heard from a freind that works at BP, they had to borrow 3715 and another OG from JFK because of those ex Bee line buses, BP is 7 buses short, BP needs artics...... Grand Concourse Posted July 8, 2010 Share #24 Posted July 8, 2010 I disagree, the 8600s from ENY were pretty bad. Probably in part because of so many lines being pretty long like the B82. Overall MJQ's were superior. As for artics, they are only good if they replace a 40' bus directly, but knowing the MTA it'll be more like 2 artics replacing 3 40' buses.
