I am working tonight at BART, there is a lot of tension right now waiting to hear the verdict.

more update, it was super mellow on the Dublin line. 19th n 12th street stations got closed down for a while.

 

such a shame the media is not showing the peaceful rally, they are obsessed with the mini riot that happen after the rally.

I heard about the verdict kind of like a mass transit Rodney King case. Guys in case you have not heard about it, the case involves which a BART Police Officer on New Years Night 2009, who is White was charged w/ 2nd degree murder in using excessive force in shooting a Black Rider in Oakland, Ca.

 

M97, the case other then first few days in which minor riots occured after this incident has not gotten much publicty at least back here in NY.

I won't comment and offer my takes as I don't know much about the trial that just ended:confused:.

it has not been all riots like the media is making it seem that Oakland folks are a bunch of monsters. check out this website, it is from the youth radio in Oakland. they have been covering this since day one when the videos of the shooting went up on youtube.

there has been a ton of peaceful rallies. don't buy into the media, there is so much more to this story then riots n looting.

 

as a white bart guy I feel like I could never understand what it must be like to be a young black male hearing the verdict after watching the video on youtube over n over again this past year and a half of this young man being shot in the back face down by a BART cop. super sad.

I think it was a horific f**k up where a bart cop lost his cool got super nervouse started shaking n pulled his gun. I think he should be held accountable. it just sucks all around I keep thinking of oscar grants poor mother. and the cops father having to watch his son get locked up.
