That depends on when the R179s hit the system.

 

In a way you can thank the (M) for the need for those R42s at ENY. - (J) had to give up a few R160s to make the (M) all R160s.

 

Why can't the (M) also run R42s?

That is because (M) is not on the rollsign.

Thanks B) and I think that the R42's won't go the (M) because of the conductor's position on the platforms and the (Mx) rollsign difference.
