They're not in SBS livery like 6234 probably so they're available for the Q10 and Q70 as well as the Q52/53.

the assumption is that the Bus Co. artics will remain in local wrap because between JFK/Far Rock, LaGuardia & Baisley Park depots, there are only 2 sbs lines (52/53) and it'd be kinda pointless to have any of the artics dedicated to solely sbs service when it'd be significantly easier to mileage swap buses between said depots for all their artic lines (Q10/52/53/111/113/114 or any other line they choose to use them on, like the Q70 or Q7, etc) seeing as (or assuming that) these units will not be transferred/swapped with NYCTA/MaBSTOA units

Wait let me get this straight, the 6209s are not going to be SBS? So I guess we will see them on the Q39? Smh.

To sum up any questions regarding these buses. As of right now, this is the current allotment:

-25 to LGA

-15 to JFK

-13 to BP

The current SBS units at MTAB will go back to NYCTA, with a handful remaining for use on the Q70 when the line gets converted to artic in the near future. Buses will receive SBS colors in due time.

Is Baisley Park on a shortage from what they already have?

This is to implement partial artic conversion on the Q64.

They want to make the Q64 an articulated line.

I guess we are about to see some cuts and lengthened headway’s. However the Q64 definitely needs articulated buses during rush hours, especially for the AM rush.
