Or more Bronx operators are out sick .....

2 Bronx Division B/O's have passed away from coronavirus. B/O William Scott, Kingsbridge Depot and B/O Sanni Adamu, West Farms... so, alot of employees in Bronx Division (hell, across all titles) have taken extra precaution to not come to work, especially with the recent state & federal covid-19 related leave laws. it is what it is. self preservation is key.

First off. Rest In Peace to those brothers 🙏🏾🙏🏾 and condolences to their families. This virus is really hitting home for everyone. To the (MTA) personnel on this board: @EastFlatbushLarry, @SevenEleven, @Flatbush SBS Duece, @Bill from Maspeth,  @Acela Express @XBht26, @SoSpectacular @TransitMan0251 and others I’m missing right now.  Thank You for what you do on a daily basis especially in times like this. And again Thank You 🙏🏾.

Second: Preservation is key and let us all flatten the curve. Although the weather is getting a bit warmer. However, let’s help the essential workers to their work and everyone else stay home in the meantime. This too shall past.

@Future ENY OP  I am not MTA personnel. I do not belong in the company of the others you mentioned. I echo your message though.

Oh my goodness, that’s a very sad thing to hear man. This virus is really coming for anyone at this point and it’s scary.

Also, the loans are for bus driver shortages.

From Kingsbridge, the routes affected are the: Bx1, Bx3, Bx9, and Bx15.

For Gun Hill: Bx28, Bx40 and Bx41.

There’s some XD60s and LFSAs from Manhattan on the Bx1, Bx9 and Bx15.

There’s some Old Gens and Next Gens on the Bx3, Bx9, Bx28, and Bx41.

There’s an XN60 on the Bx40 and Bx41.

due to the employee shortage, depots are covering runs for each other within their respective divisions. this isn't a regular practice among TWU Local 100 depots, yet being that this is a very unfortunate circumstance, TWU is mirroring a practice that currently exists among ATU Local 1056/726 (Queens & Staten Island). so, to reiterate, most of the odd buses seen popping up on lines/runs that do not run out of that depot aren't loaned buses. with that said, certain buses are actually loaned, due to extra cleaning precautions being taken by cleaners (if they're available. all titles have been affected by call-outs/ unavailable personnel... there are token booths that are currently being unmanned due to this outbreak)

Not to be rude on this, but, currently, the loans aren't known as transfers. Currently, units currently from other depots will rotate b.c of the outbreak (details on the outbreak is on EastFlatbushLarry's reponse).

The Bronx has received various standard and articulated buses from various depots in Manhattan Division. Maybe the Bronx is sanitizing their buses.

The Bronx is short on operators. A lot of call-outs+operators getting tested for the virus along with a decent chunk of operators at KB in quarantine.

This, some of the loaned buses are currently in their respective depots. Any loaners should be reported in the Random Thoughts Thread.

I'll tell you this much, the folks at KB are NOT happy with other depots covering their work...been hearing quite a lot through the grapevine lately.

you're not lying. in the bronx division as a whole, several employees live in Westchester County and surrounding areas, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that they were under automatic quarantine. with that said, the division is pissed. if you know anything about the politics of Local 100 regarding TA/MaBSTOA, the consolidation pick of 2002, the TA/OA seniority, and the loss of runs in OA due to the articulation of lines back in the day (which opened the door for OA operators to work in Brooklyn, where work was maintained/sustained) this wouldn't come as a surprise, union heads beefing over coverage. is it petty at this point, being that employees are losing their lives or are potentially in harms way? ABSOLUTELY, it's petty to woof about run coverage right now. however, it's a slippery slope mentality. give management an inch, management will take a mile. i personally do not have an issue with civil-service queens division (for example) covering bronx/OA/municipal runs (because the apparent goal is to provide essential service) however, the union is doing exactly what we pay union dues for... there are people who are out (call-outs, quarantined, etc) that are concerned about losing their livelihoods (be it getting run pay, FMLA, Emergency coronavirus medical leave) and the only way to get answers/a reaction is to be petty. transit is a very reactionary organization, unfortunately. very rarely are they proactive.
