I gotta be honest, I didn’t think East New York would receive any XDE40. It looked like they were getting 2009/10 NG Hybrids and 2014/15 Xcelsior XD40 to displace their older buses.

  But those buses went back. Recently, 2 NGs went back to Grand Ave from this depot. Even one, back to Flatbush. And 3 XD40s went back to FP from this too.

I’m not referring to the ones that were LOANED to East New York last night. I’m talking about the actual transfers:

3967, 3992 from Manhattanville.

4103, 4105-4107, 4113, 4134 from Gun Hill.

4588-4589, 7137-7139, 7151 from Flatbush.

7140-7149, 7152-7159 from Ulmer Park.

4814, 7100, 7114, 7122, 7193-7198 from Grand Avenue.

7697-7698, 7734-7737 from West Farms.

I'll be honest. i was thinking along the same line... which would be par for the course, so to speak, historically. brooklyn division used to get over saturated with everyone else's hand-me-downs. but it would make a great deal of sense to not bombard ENY with a gang of NG's and say "make do". however, it's only one bus, so the jury is still out on xde's at ENY. we'll see what happens.
