4704 is already at KB, my guess is they'll scrap 5268 but 4703 is open too.

It was done to avoid a fleet number conflict with the incoming LFSAs.

Originally they were going to renumber the 6000 numbered O5s and they still have a big gap after 1290. Trying to make sense of what the MTA does will make anyone crazy, lol.

Perhaps, and that order could very well partially or completely go to New Flyer for XD60s, they held up the order a year so they can evaluate the XD60.

I highly doubt they will give the XD60 the order of 328 more artics. The first 90 buses (save for #4710) have not even arrived yet. The time gap is way to short.

Well the first 90 are basically the test buses, that's the whole point of the BT&E program. All the teething issues will get ironed out and hopefully a new order will be made.

 

Look at the first LFSAs we got. Those were part of the BT&E program and look what happened with them...we got 300+ more

Speaking of BT&E: Have all the 40' local buses at SI, UP, QV passed and staying or is there still a chance they get sent back? Like with the 3g, Orion being closed, is the MTA still keeping that fleet or will they give them back?

The #7000s are for keeps. It's not that big of a feal anyway for we have thousands of other Orion VII OGs and NGs for parts. I just wish Orion brought out the Orion 8. Those dumbasses at Daimler did not think about what that may have led to.
